Bermuda Celebrity Golf Invitational: A Star-Studded Weekend of Golf

Some of the biggest names in sports to compete at Bermuda’s week-long celebration of golf and diversity.

The inaugural 2023 Bermuda Celebrity Golf Invitational will occur from April 26 to May 1 at the beautiful Port Royal Golf Course with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The event will feature an impressive lineup of athletes, celebrities, and notable guests, including actor Anthony Anderson, retired star athletes, Olympic champion Sugar Ray Leonard, MLB and NFL star Bo Jackson and New York Giants Hall of Fame player Lawrence Taylor, and more.

Bermuda is home to some of the best island golf courses in the world. The invitational’s host site, Port Royal Golf Course, located on the island’s west coast, is considered one of the best courses in Bermuda and has hosted numerous tournaments, including the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and the current Butterfield Bermuda Championships. World-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed Port Royal Golf Course in 1970.

The tournament will be a four-day event, with the first two days being practice rounds and the last two being the actual tournament. The competition will be a stroke play event, with the winner being the player with the lowest score after four rounds.

The Bermuda Celebrity Golf Invitational is an excellent opportunity for golf fans and celebrities to come together and enjoy a weekend of competition and camaraderie. The event will also benefit the Bermuda Sports Pathway program, which provides financial assistance to young athletes in Bermuda who are pursuing a career in sports.

The first event of its kind ever to take place on the island, the Bermuda Celebrity Golf Invitational also kicks off a jam-packed week of golfing activities, including Black Golfers Week. The 2023 Black Golfers Week in Bermuda will be held from April 27 to May 1. The event will celebrate the golf community’s continued progress toward diversity and inclusion, thus ultimately reinvesting in the sport.

The week will feature a variety of events, including:

  • A celebrity pro-am
  • A golf tournament
  • A cocktail-style Awards Dinner and Tea on the Tee After Party
  • A golf clinic for kids
  • A panel discussion on diversity and inclusion in golf
