In a remarkable display of unity and celebration, athletes, entertainers, and influencers from various sports came together at Topgolf Los Angeles – El Segundo on June 19th, 2023. The event, organized by Change The Game Sports Series and hosted by Travis Mathew, aimed to foster diversity in golf and honor the tremendous impact of athletes on society and culture.

Change The Game Sports Series, founded by Brian Amlani, believes in elevating athletes’ voices and recognizing their achievements beyond the field. “I created Change The Game Sports Series to highlight the impact that sports has made on culture and society, and the important work that athletes continue to do throughout their careers,” shared Amlani, emphasizing the underlying mission behind the event.

The day commenced with a panel discussion on diversity in sports, skillfully moderated by the renowned speaker and entrepreneur Karen Civil and featuring NFL veteran Tommie Harris. The insightful conversation paved the way for an exciting Celebrity Golf Shootout Challenge at The Lakes at El Segundo, where MLB legends David Justice, James Loney, and Jimmy Rollins led one team, while other teams comprised top former and current NFL players such as Reggie Bush, Terrell Owens, and Eric Kendricks.

Throughout the day, the Topgolf clubhouse was abuzz with enthusiasm as guests were adorned in the trendy and high-performance apparel from TravisMathew. The brand hosted an exclusive pop-up shop, adding a stylish touch to the event.

The festivities continued into the night with the much-anticipated Players’ Night Out party, where the participants enjoyed a round of Topgolf. Former NBA legend Jon Barry emerged victorious in the men’s category, securing a year-long sponsorship from TravisMathew. In the women’s category, Jenna Brady, a former college basketball player and Guinness World Record Holder, claimed the title and also earned a coveted TravisMathew sponsorship.

This star-studded event drew the attendance of esteemed athletes, entertainers, and influencers from across the sports world. The likes of Reggie Bush, Terrell Owens, Karen Civil, and Jon Barry, among many others, joined forces to celebrate diversity and promote inclusivity in the sporting realm.
